Welcome to the 2012 Big Canoe Tour of Homes. Our theme, Spirit of the Mountains, is reflective of our support of charities in Pickens and Dawson Counties all year long.
With four beautiful homes graciously offered, we felt that featuring each in its spirit of the mountains would be a unique way to present Big Canoe. The homeowners immediately began to add their own spiritual touches as you will see on the tour.
We are grateful to all our homeowners, volunteers, advertisers, auction donors, and Tour Patrons. The contributions of each of these groups are critical to the support of the Guild’s Charitable Giving. Through the life of the Tour, we have earned over a million dollars!
The many charities we support in Pickens and Dawson counties also deserve our thanks for administering our funds to provide food, shelter, health care and many other services to people in need in our community.
As you visit with us during the 2012 Tour of Homes, we hope that you will enjoy the four beautiful homes. We encourage you to spend time in the Marketplace including the Book Nook, the Collectors’ Corner, the Bear Paw Bakery, the Crazy Bear Café, and numerous vendors. As one of our volunteers expressed, “The Tour is the Big Canoe community sharing their homes, mountains, lakes, culinary and artistic creations even their books and jewels, most of all their hearts, heads and hands spending thousands of hours and earning over a million dollars over the years to benefit the many charities in Pickens and Dawson counties.”
